People have talked about how Sony is bad at marketing. They were originally nothing, and got to the top of the heap. But now, they are third place. The discussion of how they are bad came back to my mind, when I happened to see an ad for the Playstation 3 on TV for a SPECIFIC game. Yes, they advertises a single game. Was it Killzone 2 or something else like this, meant to take it to Nintendo or Microsoft? It was actually MLB: The Show, and it was for ALL their consoles. It wasn't a PS3 specific ad.
In all this, I get the impression Sony either doesn't know how to market as an underdog, with hip "in your face" stuff that says it is cool to be a rebel, or they can't do it, because their strength had been they had been on the top. If they seem like they are underdog (this can work), then they lose their "Buy us we are Playstation".
Anyhow, just curious anyone wants to comment here. Has Sony forgotten how to do it? Is it that they can't afford to? Or am I off in some manner in regards to my perception of things.
