Famitsu does very well to show just how many games and consoles "hardcore" gamers purchase and simply how small the number is tiny compared to the casuals. The 360 is the "hardcore" Japanese console so it is no shock "hardcore" gamers like the system.
Back when I was in Tokyo many moons ago the 360 was disliked due to hardware failure, has that not been the case the console may well have sold near PS3 numbers. The games are there but the console simply has the stigma of shitty hardware, really really bad hardware.
Good to see the console got to 1 million, is a good console but damn 2+ years was a long time. Don't give me the "it's an American console so 1 million is great" because that is nonsense, the iPod shows that American products sell. Compared to the Xbox a leap in the right direction though, the same not being said for the Playstation brand.
