| WereKitten said: @AkiraGr Actually the guy, among any mad claim and wrong number he might have spat, said that Nintendo's games are just great. But face it: not 100% of the sales of Nintendo's first party games comes from sheer quality and/or some quality titles are not selling on the Wii. You can't have the cake and eat it too. |
Can you give me a more credible example. Okami didn't sell on PlayStation 2 that had triple times the user base the Wii had when the port of the game came out!
Was a new IP from Clover Studios, which Capcom never put a marketing effort behind it, still you are compering it with a genre definer-20 year old known franchise which it's prequel Ocarina of Time is remembered as the best game of the industry until now?
Gee you look more bright with every comment you make and your deduction and logic leave speechless!!
Okami is at par on quality with The Legend of Zelda BUT did the core gamer regardless of which console it came out buy it?The aswear to that is no so it isn't Wii fault that okami didn't sell it was the "hardcore" gamer who thought this game was to "kiddy" for them to even bother try it. Do you think that if Okami was out for Xbox360 or PlayStation 3 that would sold more than the Wii?The answear to that is also hell no.
Some game are destined to fail because the gamers are not ready to accept them. Just like the best game of the previous generation that was on the DreamCast by the name of SHENMUE! It didn't sell on the DreamCast so it could bring back revenues for the publisher BUT it did bring a HELL of an awesome experience to whoever dove into the gameplay of this masterpiece that no game even now has.
