But what i'm saying is that processing power DS can't give to games, i've already played very interesting games on DS, i just love The World Ends With You(really funny) and this game was just possible with DS. But see other case, FFIV DS, the Touch Screen just added nothing to the game than a few minigames, processing power could have done more to this game than touch screen or motion sense. What I'm trying to say is, depending on the game the Director of the game want to make HD is the right way to go, HD will add much more to FF than Wiimote. The true sin of this gen is that ps360 don't have motion capture and PSP don't touch screen, putting everything together, processing power and motion capture, dev would be able to make outstanding games. |
You still haven't told me what processing power has given RPGs though since the PSOne days. What have we gained? We still have the same variations of turn-based combat. We have the same linear stories. In fact a lot of people would say outside of a gem or two, the stories have only gotten worse. We have the same town layouts full of meaningless houses to hop into for no reason, plus an armor, weapons and potion shop plus an Inn that have some use. In fact the only real thing I've seen change in RPGs in the last ten years is now we have voice acting. That's really it.
Now do I really need to run down the innovations provided by the DS to RPGs? And no the Wii cannot replicate all of them.
