This is not what we are asking. We are asking for respect towards our medium of choice. If George Lucas hates making programs for television, so be it. But don't be a little bitch and cry about it when Lost get's more critical praise ánd followers then the latest Star Wars Saga.

Maybe that's not what you are asking.

But how many times have we read comments on the lines of "those producers are so stupid... instead of doing that game for the HD consoles they should have done two for the Wii and they would have costed half as much" and "I'm glad if the economic downturn will push them to make simpler games".

Btw, I think having a "medium of choice" is restrictive. I like good books, good tv, good comics and good movies.

There are great Wii games. I don't see why every developer that doesn't want to go the Wii way, should. Maybe they find it resrictive for the wrong reasons, maybe they are being elitists. Who cares? The Wii has its Joss Whedons, stop asking every movie director to start working on tv... most of them wouldn't be good at it anyway.

I should have said one of our mediums of choice. I too enjoy a wide variety of media from books to films to videogames. Hell, I even enjoy playing HD videogames. Wanated himself is creating this dichotomy between the Wii and HD consoles, clearly marking his territory to one medium of choice. That's fine, at least to me, but at least word it right, and with proper arguements as his claims have been debunked over and over already.

As for the comments you stated on wii development... that is some users. Generalizations go both ways. I think that a dev should do what he likes. BUT - to some dev's with less resources spreading a risk can be more helpfull.
