I feel guilty. It was during the PS1 period that I really got into gaming... on the N64. 
Zelda, Mario, Banjo, and Goldeneye were the bread and butter of that gen for me. I didn't know any better though.
Fast forward to the PS2 era and I realized what I missed out on. To this day, I'm still slowly playing/collecting all of those amazing titles.
Person 1: Does Valkyria Chronicles have trophies?
Person 2: No.
Person 1: Forget it. I'm not buying it.
Person 2: Wait! It's amazing! Unique, charming, drop dead gorgeous... Hello?
