Because it's more convenient like this. For us, it's better spaced:
-Noche de Reyes in January
-Easter in March/April
-Father's Day in June (3rd sunday)
-Children's day in August (2nd sunday)
-Mother's Day in October (3rd sunday)
-Xmas/New Year's Eve in December
I guess it allows more sales
