I started out on PC games because they generally offered a large library with the most options for customization and depth of game play (and I've always had a computer). I just got tired of buying a game that needed tweaks and patches just to work with my video or sound card or needing to upgrade my machine every 6 months to keep up with new requirements. I bought a PS2 back in 2002 and started drifting away from the PC. (Vista was the final nail in that coffin). Originally I intended to buy a PS3 but the price made me wait and then they discontinued the backwards compatible version all together so I had less of a reason to stick with Sony. After playing with a friends Wii system my family really wanted one so I bought one and we've been happy with it. I don't really have the time to play that I used to so I'm finding the Wii to be enough system for me. I only had two friends that would play the PS2 when they came over whereas the Wii attracts any and everyone because the controls are so easy to learn. I think my kids will be choosing the next system we buy but I see the Wii having some legs in our household because my wife and her friends use it too. That surprised the hell out of me before the Wii my wife didn't think much of video games now we have Wii Fit and it's not uncommon to find her playing Shaun White with it when she thinks nobody's home.
