The 360 is far, far better than the PS2 in terms of shooters (FPS/TPS), WRPGs, and online games. If those areas are the most important to you, then you might even consider the 360 the best console of all time. It's respectable for racing and traditional sports, but the PS2 was also very strong in those genres.
In all other areas, the 360 is lacking when compared to the PS2.
