Given the size and scope of the justice system, and a society of 300,000,000+ people, no, I don't think it's colorblind. But to assume that every instance of whites and blacks getting mixed up is racial is to be prejudiced against the possibility of civility between both racial groups. The article gives no insinuation that the attack was racially motivated, and here you are crying 'race! race!' - it shows that you are certainly not colorblind, and may be doing more harm than good. Again, we must demand justice in an attack - regardless if it was done with racial overtones, homophobic, religious, or otherwise. All attacks are perpetrated due to some sort of bias. To prioritize them shows that you do want to show preferential treatment.
