2K Games has revealed that the 'Sea of Dreams' subtitle for BioShock 2 seen in the game's initial teaser trailer will no longer be used.
Confusion was sparked following a recent issue of Gamer Informer refered to the game as BioShock 2, removing the subtitle from the equation. However, 2K Games community manager Elizabeth Tobey has since stated: “You won’t be seeing ‘Sea of Dreams’ moving forward, just ‘BioShock 2'."
The company didn't say why it decided to remove the subtitle, although it probably decided it would be easier to plump for the more rudimentary title of BioShock 2.

I have a pretty good idea why. The original teaser showed a little sister grown up.. IE the thing happening like.. 10-15 years later or so.. while all rumored info so far has contradicted this..
Seems like they may have chosen to go with a different story than originally planned.

What do you mean? I thought the main villian of the new game was the Big Sister, who was a little sister previously and grew up in Rapture. That would fit the vibe of the teaser trailer rather well I think. It would be the part about the beach that doesn't make a lot of sense thus far.

What rumors? Go read the newest Game Informer. They have a huge thing in there about the game. Darth posted it here a few days back. The Big Sister is in the game, so yes that teaser has value to it. I don't think it counts as spoilers if it's covered in a magazine by the developer previous to the launch of the game.
