Yeah the last part is just a rumor. But in a way it makes sense that Sony is more interested in keeping it than Ericsson. Ericsson is not a consumer electronics company, so they can't really take much advantage of having Sony Ericsson on board (no way of combining products for example, while Sony could make a PSP+phone combo and gain something in another division).
