Hello, all.

This is the weekly update for the Best Games of 2009 posted in the 19th March. Even though it's only been 6 days since the last update, there are many changes, so let's get started:

  • We start with a major new entry as Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars debuts for the NDS beginning with an impressive Metascore of 94; unlike the DS's other entries so far this year, this one looks certain to stay at 85+.
  • Grand Theft Auto IV: the Lost and the Damned falls back to 90 again after its peak of 91 last week.
  • Burnout Paradise: the Ultimate Box has finally hit the chart for the 360, but its lack of reviews (only 5 so far), make its current Metascore of 90 pretty shaky.
  • MLB 09: The Show has continued its rise, and, after 19 reviews, now stands at an impressive 90, making it the first major contender for a so-called 'AAA' HD sports title this gen.
  • Peggle on the 360 drops to 89 from 90.
  • Our second Burnout Paradise: The Ultimate Box movement has the PS3 version gaining a point, taking it up to 88 again.
  • After weeks of no movement, Flower for the PS3 slips from 88 to 87.
  • And finally on Burnout Paradise: The Ultimate Box, the PC version loses the point it gained last week, dropping to 87.
  • Sins of a Solar Empire: Entrenchment, drops a percent, slipping to 86.
  • Falling dangerously close to the cut-off mark again, Resident Evil 5 for 360 falls to 85 again, after a week of hovering at 86.
  • Wii's big hope, Madworld, just slipped from the chart, and now sits as 84.
  • And, lastly, as predicted last week, Valkyrie Profile: Covenant of the Plume fell from the chart, dropping from 85 to an unfortunate Metascore of 78.

That modifies the current chart to:

  1. PS3 with 6 titles (3 exclusive)
  2. 360 with 5 titles (1 exclusive)
  3. PC with 4 titles (3 exclusive)
  4. NDS with 2 titkles (2 exclusive)
  5. Wii and PSP with 0 titles

Another interesting week. See you all next time.
