But you didn't answer my question. Why does it bother you that one ethnicity-food relation is a celebration and the other is an insult? And why do you care? Is it okay for people to be different, and for them to have different feelings?

Because you can't have it both ways. They are either both offensive, or neither are.

And ditch the ridiculous pink avatar. I know what you're thinking, but it will not help you get laid.

Yes I can have it both ways.  People are different.  Circumstances are different.  Cultures are different.  Why does that bother you?  Do you prefer a big homogenous blob of humanity with no distinguishing features and everybody thinking the same absolutely correct way?  There is no reason to believe that different ethnicities should celebrate holidays in the same way, especially when one is a holiday for a civil rights acitivist, and the other has nothing to do with civil rights.  One holiday is for fun and partying and celebrating, and MLK Day is not.  One has a meal associated with it, and MLK Day does not.

Differences exist, and that's okay.  For example, maybe you're uncomfortable with the color pink because you have gender and/or sexuality issues and think certain colors are gender-specific.  However, I do not.  So your dress code hang-ups don't get to dictate my kickass flamboyant style.  I wear pink all the time and I still pretend balloons are my penis, and I get laid.  In fact, I'm married and my wife took that photo.  Sorry if I just blew your mind.

Or hey, get this: did you know that in some cultures, boys have to swallow the semen of an older man as a rite of passage?  Since semen is the only fluid that men make that women can't make, they believe it contains the essence of masculinity.  And those kids AREN'T GAY.  Whoooooa, different cultures have different concepts of masculinity and sexuality, and that's okay!  AAGHAGHRHRHHGHGGH.
