Also, the PS3 isn't going to miraculously jump ahead and start outselling the 360 by 100k per month anytime soon. The most it's going to do for the next few years is no more 50k a month and I would even call that pushing it.
When the PS3 does start consistently outselling the 360, they are already going to be hopelessly behind the 360. Big exclusives are becoming a thing of the past (I know both consoles have their big exclusives, but they level each other out) so there isn't going to be much to push the PS3 ahead of the 360.
Even when the PS3 gets to that mythical sub $200 price point that every fanboy creams their pants over, what do you think Microsoft is going to do? They're going to do the exact same thing and they will still be hopelessly stuck in a gridlock.
As I said, both sides have their big exclusives to cancel out the other sides exclusives so the PS3 isn't going to suddenly jump ahead because of that and the 360 can always at the very least match the PS3 so it can't jump ahead due to price.
So even that 6 1/2 year figure isn't even likely to happen. It's cool people love them the PS3, they have every right to because Sony has done some great things this gen, but the people holding onto the hope that the PS3 will pull ahead just refuse to look at the actual facts. They just keep holding onto their blind faith that a price cut and a new exclusive will change everything but looking at the numbers it's obvious it just won't.
