Actually, that's incorrect. The PS3 sold way more units worldwide in 2007 and the X360 sold only 30K more units worldwide in 2008. We are just 3 months into 2009.
Since the PS3 is suppose to be on the market, AT LEAST, 2 years longer than the X360, PS3 should win. That's assuming a close to worse case scenario for the PS3. The PS3 sales average is around 2.3 million consoles per quarter. Less than one year of the X360 not being on the market would equal a higher total for the PS3. I don't count the Wii (not an HD console and not in direct competition).
