Does you monarch have any political power? If so, how much? If so, is it an absolute monarchy?(I don't believe there are many of those left today, if at all?)
No they do not have any real power. Queen Beatrix is asked for gratifying certain laws but that's it for domestic issues. Abroad she seems to have more power as she is, at times, used as a powerfull negotiator in countries where royalty still matters. For instance, she co-axed Thailand (I believe it was Thailand, or Taiwan) in a prisoner-exchange treay a few years ago so we could get Dutchmen who would otherwise be executed for drug-trafficking off the hook.
Do you think your monarch should have more power? Less power? Stay the same? Should it be abolished totally?
I think it's fine as is. The monarchy has little true power (there should never be to much power in one individual) and the queen serves as a very powerful symbol of nationality. Most people are fond of our monarchy, and it tends to unite us.
What do you think of monarchy as a whole?(anybody could answer this one.)
Awesome, but try to keep the spending down somewhat!
