They're technically not Zombies and Capcom also boasted about how the enemies in this game would be fast, intelligent and use strategy to trap and gang up on you. Needless to say the end product fell exceedingly short.

Lol.  Okay.  You'll have to break out the technical definition for me.  That'd be awesome to see.  Maybe a diagram to go with it.

I own RE5, and its pretty fun.  If they were as dumb as the OP suggests, it wouldn't be.  Sorry.  Its not perfect, but... it is a computer game.  Nothing like the technically sound zombie attacks you probably get your data from. ;)

 

It's alright if you like it, but you enjoying it is not proof positive of great AI, especially for what the game was advertised as.

In addition, my qualm is with your "after the fact" excuses, not whether you liked it or not.

Nothing is more lazy than simply just saying, "But they're zombies" as an excuse for a system that fell far short of what it was promised to be. All you needed to say was that you felt it was still a solid great game, not belittle us with such a lame excuse.
