But maybe it is broken. A series like this should be getting stronger, especially as the install base on the PS2 went up. Maybe it was because of Soul Caliber and Dead or Alive, but this game has obviously lost some appeal with gamers. Again, I'm not trying to troll this topic or be a hater. I love this game, but I bought tekken 4 and just thought...meh. Tekken 5 didn't seem any diiferent...and Tekken 6 looks just the same. Time for a reboot is all I'm saying. Maybe Tekken vs. Soul Caliber would be cool. |
Well, I do think that 5 was better than 4, but the series definately peaked with Tekken Tag Tournament. That game is my favourite fighter second only to Soul Calibur. Of course, I play most of my fighters in an actual arcade, so I might have a different perspective than others. Seems like they're always pushing the character models and eye candy with fighters, and the gameplay suffers in a way which is hard to even put your finger on. |
Wow the Tekken franchise has fallen quite a bit, WOW never knew that. Seeing that it was popular in the PS1 days. |
Wow way to not read the whole thread. It has already been discussed that those numbers are wrong, and that Tekken 5 sold 4.3 mil. according to Wikipedia (which makes sense, considering how much better 5 was than 4). Once again, VGchartz's software numbers are just off. It's like that for a lot of older games here.
