Looks like the battle scenes in Rorona are...cellshaded? Small screenshots currently, but it looks pretty nicely done for a GUST game.

2D/3D hybrid...event scenes are probably either all 2D or 3D if it occurs during/immediately before a battle on the field with 2D char art popping in for facial expressions and what not during the actual event (like Tears to Tiara)
