Should brace for a quick defeat

This.

When the PS3 came out it was gonna trounce the 360...  Didn't happen...

2007 was supposed to be the year of the PS3...  Didn't happen...

2008 was supposed to be the year of the PS3... Didn't happen...

2009 is supposed to be the year of the PS3...  It still hasn't materialized...

What makes you think things are going to change this year simply with a price drop?  Assuming a $100 price drop it is still $100 more expensive then 360... Until Sony reaches $199, the price drops mean nothing.  And by then 360 will be $100-125

You would think, that Sony fanboys would have figured out by now (after 2+ years of defeat) that Microsoft has a plan to deal with every move Sony has/will make this generation...

You obviusly missed January 2008- October 2008 period, and you might wanna check to see who sold more in 2007.

I have.  The 360 sold more in 2007 and 2008.  All those months kinda mean nothing when they get utterly dominated to the degree that they did from October 2008 till now.

OT:  Not that this isn't entirely flame bait, but here is what MS would do.

Step 1:  Wait to see what happens over the next month or so.
Step 2:  Wait for Sony to file Bankruptcy after another 100 million USD loss in just over a month.
Step 3:  Lower the 360 price to $149/$199 for Arcade/Pro in time for holidays and destroy the remaining PS3 reserves.
Step 4:  Repeat again for 2010 with prices of $129/179.
Step 5:  Repeat again for 2011 with $99/149 and announce next Xbox.
Step 6:  Lower 360 price to $129 for only Pro model remaining.  Launch the next Xbox in 2012 at $300 opening cost to setup a next generation of owning Sony in their desperate shape and only have Nintendo to compete with.

All of those are just as possible as Sony dropping the PS3 to $300 in the next month or two, and if that happens, these will likely be soon to follow.
