Everything that I have read about this says that Sony is also wanting to make a deal with Toshiba to start a joint-venture in the manufacturing of the Cell. This tells me that they currently need some better expertise in their manufacturing, and B, that Toshiba is going to be a close partner, so therefore I would expect this to be some form of pressure on toshiba to quit selling HD-DVD players that it isn't even making a profit on.
