Yeah. The last few missions definitely up the difficulty a bit. They're still fun though. Never pull your hair out crazy hard.

 

I thought Welkin was a bit of a wuss at first too, but I ended up changing my mind towards the middle. His personality really grew on me, bug collecting and all.

In the beginning, welkin felt like the typical weenie that populate the 'harem' style anime; humble slightly clumsy and inarticulate but with a heart of gold (tm); To be honest I don't think he changes that much towards the end but he does show some nice leadership quality when crisis time comes. Of the main character Rosie and Largo are by far the more interesting and dare I say more developed.

I will admit a (very large) weak spot for Selvaria but even I can see her as the signature 'tragic villain for love' character that populate anime like unwanted offsprings of a pair of particularly amorous rabbits.
