I'll go with the "Who cares what place your system comes in, since there will be good games for it."
That's something that's held true to every system not called "Virtual Boy". Even Sega CD had a couple ok games.
Well ok, the Virtual Boy games wern't bad. It's just the red and black was a serious headache inducing monster.
