Also I have seen change in the series since I began playing it over 15 years ago. Maybe not huge changed, but some changes none the less.

I have always enjoyed needing to think during a battle and having to do things to win. In FFXII I could easily get by just going into my menu, setting up my gambits, get into a battle and just sit back and let it do it's thing.

That for me was just boring and FFXII lovers just need to accept that. Just like I accept that they actually enjoyed it.

This is an absolutely horrible reason to prefer XII to VII. Most of VII's battles can be played by taping down X. Later on, once more Materia(Final Attack & Magic Counter) is available this is especially true. The taping down X thing is also true for the majority battles in FFs though. There's only a few battles in each iteration that actually require some thought to win, and XII has its fair share as well. However, if you've only made it up to Raithwall you've yet to experience many of the tougher battles.

Except you actualy tap the O button.
