I remember the gaming discussion got so heated that ioi had to split it up into the nintendo, the MS, and the Sony sections, lol.
Then there were blokes like Kwaad who pretty much backhanded the Wii with every post he made. "I like games that are sophisticated, thus I only play PS3 games," was the general gist of his posts. Back then, there were probably 20 "wii is a fad" threads that were active at any one time.
Others got burnt out on getting trolled on because of their affinity for X console, so they would go on a expletive filled rant and get themselves permabanned.
Back then the only game of note for the PS3 was Motorstorm so he pimped that to no end.
I also remember me being one of the first ones to use a banner for a sig (I'm still using the same sig!) and trying to get other people to sig it up.
Among some of the VGC celebrities were Weezy for being hilarious at some points, and Gballzack for, well, being a girl? Then I think she ended up being permabanned for spamming cat porn all over the placee, lol.
