The problem you have with Zidane is the not the fact that he was a bad character (and I do agree with you on that), but the fact the he was in the spotlight in FFIX, and Vaan wasn't in XII. In your mind not being the main character excuses you of having a (well developed) personality, as opposed to a main character, which has to be great.

Come to think of it, maybe that's why you ike Suikoden games so much. A few well developed characters and 100 shitly developed ones.

I never said that Vaan didn't have no personality. I think he's a well developed character, not the deepest, but not bad by any means. I was just pointing why Vaan is so hated. He's a fine character, but everyone blames him because he's not a "cool main character"

Maybe if Zidane wasn't the main character and Vivi was I would have liked the game more, yeah, but who knows. But also, maybe if Kuja wasn't so horrible I would have liked it more, so no point wondering

And the last sentence, since you only played one game and you didn't even finish it (I'm not sure even if you reached the middle), I'm not gonna bother answering it

 

No i don't hate Vaan because he's not "cool" i hate him because he's annoying and had no part in the story at all. Its like SE made Vaan the main character just to piss us off.
