Well, I do think that 5 was better than 4, but the series definately peaked with Tekken Tag Tournament. That game is my favourite fighter second only to Soul Calibur.
Of course, I play most of my fighters in an actual arcade, so I might have a different perspective than others.
Seems like they're always pushing the character models and eye candy with fighters, and the gameplay suffers in a way which is hard to even put your finger on.
