Lots of gamers these days want games to be handed to them on a plate. Die more than twice on one section and it's unfair. Too hard, blah, blah. Pretty fucking sad imo. |
I think there should have been a way to se a person's win/loss ratio or some other metric to show how good a player is so that people like the OP would have an idea what kind of player they're going against (disconnects should count as losses). The present system could put you against the winner of the gamespot tournament and you would just get your ass handed to you. It's hard to improve your skills when you play people who are waaay ahead of you because you rarely get a chance to do much. I know because I'm pretty good and soul calibur Iv and have handed lots of perfects where my opponents messaged me basically saying "wtf just happened?". Some just aren't gluttons for punishment.
This is probably one of the reasons why soul calibur 4 sold more.

"WAR is a racket. It always has been.
It is possibly the oldest, easily the most profitable, surely the most vicious. It is the only one international in scope. It is the only one in which the profits are reckoned in dollars and the losses in lives"---Maj. Gen. Smedley Butler
