Yeah but it was so much more than that. When we think WRPG we think Morrowind\Oblivion\Some losely plotted sandbox world joined together by some scripting. Sure technically it might be called an RPG nowadays. But back then it was an action adventure.

It was a mix of everything, there's no way you could call it an RPG with a straight face, not with the negative connotations it implies. It had the richness of a JRPG with the no nonsense WRPG attititudes of past times...

Ahhhh, I've sussed it. It's not an RPG because you couldn't chose who you were. You had set choices but you couldn't actually chose who you were. It wasn't your story, you were following a path. So you could choose how you got past an area but it was more of an FPS than an RPG.

How much dialogue was there? Certainly not a WRPGs worth!
