try Mario - he is staring in a JRPG, extremely popular and as a character he is a pile of crap (sorry), even if the game he is in tend to be very fun

 

 I like Mario RPG's >:(.  Besides, he seldom ever talks so it easier to be interested in the supporting cast.  It's usually quite humorous.
