For me it's like with overwritten literature: in general it's a flaw, but in some cases it's just part of what builds the soul of the work, unwieldy and cheesy as it might be. Case in question: the MGS series among games, Lost among TV shows, Stephen King's logorrheic tomes. Bad in a good way :)
Other times I found them plain painful to stand. Assassin's Creed mission intros and death rants, anyone? Yeah, they were not extremely long by the stopwatch, but they sure felt like they never ended, in my head...
