I'm not talking technically. Obviously there are areas with a ton more on screen and more lighting effects and explosions and stuff. But visually I liked it. Maybe it had a great impact on me because it broke the game out of the darker colour scheme used in earlier levels. Not saying they looked bad, just that this level was a drastic difference so the contrast made it stand out to me. I think the caves in Gears 2 had that much more impact for similar reasons. The first few levels are in broken cities and it was the same way for a lot of the first game. The on rails part section when riding the one giant truck thing (I forget what it's called), the environment seemed a tad toned down and blurred to me. The caves were such a large contrast that they just really stood out that much more even if they might not be the most technically demanding part of the game.
Oh... how I hate those spiders. Grossed me out quite well the first time I saw them. I guess that's a good thing though, they were convincing.
