Only five? Edgar P. Jacobs, Peyo, Jean-Michel Charlier, Jijé, Maurice de Bevere (better known as Morris), Eddy Paape, Victor Hubinon, Jacques Martin, Willy Vandersteen, Maurice Tillieux and of course my two favorite ones: André Franquin and the one and only Hergé. I love Belgian comics (as well as French ones). École Marcinelle! Ligne claire! Casterman! Other famous Belgians I can think of: Georges Simenon, Hercule Poirot (yes, I know, the latter one is fictional). |
I also would say Robert Cailliau (he and Tim Berners-Lee(UK) invented the World Wide Web) considering how many are on the internet I would say that is a great invention.
