Why does everyone's brain turn off when this rumor pops up? This could well happen if they made a DLC-only version of the console, with all games available for download.
Geez people, when you get to a stupid conclusion, examine your assumptions. Don't assume everyone else in the world is stupid. The real reason why this rumor won't happen is that they'd have to add a big hard drive, which would cancel out most of the savings from not having a Blu-Ray drive.
