Washington founded the US, he could not have been born in it. When he was born, the land he was born in belonged to the British.

If the Chinese invaded and took over the US, I would not then be born in China. I still was born in the US.

Okay, way to be technical. He was born in the British Colonial colony of Virginia. Maybe not a U.S. citizen, but he's still viewed as American in a historical light.

 

Yea, he was an American, but the question was:

"Simple, who do you think is the greatest person to have ever been born or raised in your country?"

Just pointing out that he was not born, nor raised in the US :)
