ookaze - then explain the progressive scan lines on my 1080p screen. I have used many 100$+ DVD players, and every DVD player displays the same interlaceing on my screen. So I guess that even if the data isnt interlaced on the disc, when the data comes off, it is then interlaced. Oh darn. Turning a perfectly good image into CRAP. That's what DVD does. Straight from the mouth of ookaze! A tech guru. For an example of upscaling. take a picture with your digicam. Cut a 480x720 section out of the picture. Now stretch that picture to 1080x1980. Look at the picture at 'actual size' And that is what the pure detail looks like. Now, let's enhance it. If you have a program like Adobe Photoshop, or any other decent photo software... Add a gaussian blur of 5pixels at about a 50% strength. You have now upsampled the image. Now look at the original 480x720, over a certin percent of your screen... and then look at your new enhanced one... over the same percent of your screen. Chances are the 480x720 one has more detail. Oh darn. unless the DVD player simply resizes the image, it's really doing nothing but hurting your image. And also.. ookaze, since DVD is in progressive mode... Would you please tell me how to turn off those interlaceing lines on most of my dvds? it's been bothering me for a year and a half since I got my HD. Second. AMD is better at server loads? I'll look into that and edit my post. my wife is nagging on me. Third Read about the hardware, the way it works on the Wii. it is a supercharged Cube. admit that. Meaning to optimize a game for it, you optimize if for the Cube, and then set the game to use 4x more power. Optimized Wii game. Fouth The Wii dont need graphics. It needs good games. Fifth Metroid looks like 3rd gen PS2 games. Sixth Mario looks like 2nd gen PS2 games. Since the Cube has more power than the PS2 and all that... that's why Cube Games look better than any PS2 game. And since the Wii is more powerful than a x-box... that's why Wii games blow x-box games out of the water graphically. WII IS GOD WORSHIP THOU GOD *yawn*
