I would say X360 reaching 40 million before or by Jan. 1 is way out of range. It would require MS is have the best selling year BY FAR of the console's lifecycle so far. The PS3 passing 30 million before or by Jan. 1 is well within reach. The PS3 has done basically 10.5 million every year since launch.
