@shock182 I respect your opinion. For me, not being able to freely go back to a previous chapter without waiting those couple of minutes of HDD activity in MGS4 was infinitely worse. With a lesser game, it might have been a game breaker for me. Frankly I think that a couple hiccups in an empty corridor or staircase in KZ2 are much less of a problem than the loading times of say HL2, regarded as a masterpiece of the genre.
@TheTruthHurts! Indeed, the Wii is the proof that a console can sell alot, its technical shortcomings notwithstanding. That doesn't mean that a single gamer can't recognize those shortcomings or take them into account when, say, choosing which version of a multiplatform game to buy. To this gamer disc swaps are an annoyance, console sales are irrelevant.

My problem is that I equate those hiccups to my kids running in the room while I am into a game and jumping on my lap, or the wife running in front of the TV ect… It flat out pisses me off and totally breaks the continuity. They did not always seem to happen in empty hallways either.
If I am focused on something, I like to keep it that way. That was my problem with KZ2’s “lack of HDD load”. I would have actually liked it more if they increased the between level load time by a minute or 2 and cut out the mini loads.
