It's better to eat crow than to stick with a dead format (DVD will be floundering, come 2012, and HDDVD is already dead)

Unless a new disc format arrives in the next three years, which is highly unlikely.

Microsoft are pushing their DD service and Netflix, they won't go BluRay.

SO HDDVD is the perfect option for them, as long as it plays DVDs, thats all microsoft needs, it doesnt matter if its a failed format or not. HD-DVD was comparable to BluRay in regards to what it could do. HD-DVD will be cheaper now too.

As for DVD dead in 2012 ... I highly doubt it.

 

 

HD-DVD could only hold 20 gigs of shit, blu-ray 50, also the blu-ray can move information faster at the same speed laser.
