Edit, misread it.  Still there is no reason to think the sample wouldn't be representative.  5,000 is a big survey number.

 

A 20,000 sample size is adequet to represent a100 million consoles....  you sure about that ?

Hell yeah.  Smaller sample sizes have been used to represent much greater populations.

Take a class on stats you'd be surprised.

I was part of a research group that was doing sales paterns and our article was published, well respected and was projecting the purchase behavior of multiple countries including the US, Australia and Russia... and we had less then 5,000 participants.
