My question is legit, if there is real benefits for Linux on the Sony console, I'll install it on my PS3 too.

 

you can run firefox

you can run vlc (for some of those codecs that nothing else seems to run!).

you can run openoffice

you can connect up a printer

basically, your ps3 is a computer, install linux, do whatever you want on it.
