Back then games didn't cost nearly as much. Also, for the most part, they were more challenging to play. 

 

Dude, games didn't cost as much?  Are u kidding me?? Were u even around during the NES era??  And apparently hard mode is really hard.  What's wrong with expanding the market by making a normal mode so everyone can enjoy it & a difficult mode for the core gamers.
