I'm sorry, but five hours seems way too short to me. It also seems to be an extremely common occurance in games recently.

I don't know how you made it through the NES era.

There is a difference between then and now.

Many games on the NES were extremely tough, but very short. Contra for example, could be easily beat in like 30 minutes, but the game was so punishing that you had to spend days trying to get to the next level only to have to restart. Same with Super Mario Bros. You had 3 lives (you could get a few extra) and if you didn't make it to the end of your 15 minute run with 3 or less mistakes, then you had to start from the very beginning.

Most of todays games aren't punishing like that. They may make you restart, but only from the beginning of a level or checkpoint. If you lose all your lives in Super Mario Galaxy, you don't have to start from scratch, you just have to restart your save file.

Now, if MadWorld plays like the old tough NES games, then 5 hours is probably too long, if it plays like most current games, then 5 hours is way to short.

Didn't IGN say they couldn't even get past the tutorial on Hard Mode? Yeah i think this qualifies as punishing =P
