Do not think Sony reps are quite at the retardation stage yet OT realistically MM and that is about it Atari will become a monster publisher again (since Phil came Atari got quite a few more games), Sega are also big and L5 make too much money on the DS to even think about being purchased. That and Hino wishes for L5 to become one of the big Japanese publishers which will not happen if Sony purchase them.

That will not happen until Level 5's "epic, Final Fantasy-caliber!" RPGs actually become Final Fantasy-caliber.
They could always use a bit more polish and much better stories. The Dark Cloud series is cool, and I aboslutely love Layton, but Rogue Galaxy bored me to tears. The story was probably their weakest yet, and the gameplay wasn't as good as Dark Cloud, because of the weaker weapon upgrade system and the lack of Georama. And there's always something really major that's annoying about the basic game design. Like Rogue Galaxy's save system, which makes you waste so much timewhen dying near the end of one of the way too long dungeons.
From what I've played, only Layton truly feels complete, but it's a much simpler game than their others.
