Not to mention we are all lazy as fuck and dependent on each other as a result. I am dependent on farmers to grow my food, energy companies to give me energy, builders to build my house, construction workers to build the roads I use everyday, barbers to cut my hair, waiters and waitresses to serve me food, etc. People back in the day were way more self-sufficient and had much less contact with the outside world than I do. They didn't have to depend on people to do all those things for them. |
Our interdepenaccy ultimatly gives us more freedom. We may rely on each other, but everyone a lot of us have many more resources than people of the past. Self sufficiency is over rated. Plus, if someone is lucky enough to be born with a high IQ in a loving family in a rich country and has acess to a strong education, they have the opporutniy to work hard and eventually have everyone relying on THEM. Jobs that demand high skill, lots of worktime, and lots of intelligence are very well paying. This is tremenous pressure, but anyone in a postion of power like that in our modern world gets the lions share of available resources.
