Not quite wrong. Every business means you want to make a profit. My point is, hardware + bundled games are thre to make easy money, while creating the perception that its a quite popular game (as in: "wow I love Wii Sports! Every body is playing it!" then it apears non hardcore gamer/casual who rarely (if ever) go to the internets to research anything about its humorous passtime: "Wow! It must be good because everyone plays it! Look at those huge sale numbers on VGChartz! Best selling game ever = win! I will spam this to my other friends!" And so on. (this was a hipotetical anedote, wich only reason to be was humorous fun about a possible, nah..not so quite, situation. 
I know it wasnt bundled in Japan, but it is in the rest of the world (from what I gatter ini this same thread). Where Wii are still selling strong? EU and US. In Japan, either because of the recession that hit it hard, or maybe because of saturation, even lack of games (wait for summer right? Im patiently waiting.). Choose your reason.
The point is people forgot Nintendo mistakes of the past (to name a few: made quite hard to 3rd party to sell on their consoles going straight against Nintendo thenselves in software sales, arrogance, selfcentered choices that would make profitability a certainty, but at the cost of the value/quality of its games). Sony made some of the same mistakes this gen, now its in last place. Nintendo is back on top, but it can fall again.
Thats my main point. Learn with your past mistakes, or you'll end up suffering because of them again. As I see, Nintendo motto is 'since my consoles prints money, I dont care about quality or my loyal fanbase (will inject lots shovelware, with a few good games once in a while, into their a*****) , my trendy casuals will sure keep buying them in spades. Hurrah for my money printers!"
Shovelware companies agrees whole heartedly. There may be a bunch of interesting games coming out to Wii, but they may sell less than said shovelware and bundle games (wich because they''re bundled, and Wii is cheap and fun (wich is not my opinion) to play, will see uber numbers. Nintendo smiles happily either way.
