Uhm, who said anything about the PS3? Or even that you need to be entirely original to make good games? I was debating against the "Nintendo invented most genres and revolutionized everything" current of thought.
When I think of something original, though? Shadow of the Colossus and Flower come to my mind. Or in a less radical way ICO or Braid or Indigo Prophecy. And for the future, I plan to tread new waters with Heavy Rain and The Path.
In Nintendo's field there are really quirky titles, like Killer7, but Nintendo plays it safe, especially as a first party developer.
