Example for me would be Diablo 2. It's 9 years old and the game is still very active and is a point and click game for the most part. If they brought D3 to consoles some people including me couldn't help but think the series would severely suffer in quality from it.

my guess is to wait and see how the 360 version of sacred 2 stacks up against the PC version, as the original sacred was very much a D2 clone.

I mean, other then the loot system i dont see why a D2-eske game couldn't be done on the 360, with exception of specific targeting skills (i.e. fist of heavens). i would say the difference is building up such a game on a console instead of adapting a PC game to the 360 - since starcraft 64 wasnt much but halo wars is an impressive RTS, even if a bit simple. and then again there's stormrise later this month - an RTS for the 360 and PS3 that focuses more on small scale battles. Looks interesting...

as for the hostility - meh. let them have their elitism, i prefer my 360 controller for most games aside from RTSs. the only thing that bugs me is the lack of cross platform gaming between the PC and the 360, ala games for windows - live, since if i recall there are roughly 7 360 games or so that have that feature. I just think it should a feature more implemented, provided that it can be done without too many problems.
