Well,first,I don't think Jrpg's are any better than Wrpg's.So imo KotOR was a great attempt at making a great game.
Secondly,It was a Star War's game that featured Star War's style music(which it great btw).Music and art direction don't make an RPG anyway.
Third,did you even play it?All you have stated is what Play-magazine has said.
Again,every one's opinion is different.
